Craig, an African Studies and French major, was able to continue his research on the region of West Africa by studying abroad through the IRSEP Scholarship Exchange Program in Senegal.

Liz S. taught English
Liz spent a year in Dakar, Senegal, where she studied and taught English classes at a local school. Her experience reinforced her commitment to teaching, and allowed her to gain professional experience in a new cultural context.

Terri R. discovers IRSEP
Through the IRSEP Senegal program, Terri was able to study a variety of topics at three different universities. Interning for Human Rights Watch was a particularly important part of her experience, which strengthened her determination to pursue a career in international human rights.

She is now pursuing a career as a U.S. Foreign Service officer, hoping to become an ambassador someday!

Having already studied in Beijing, Nick chose to spend a year in Tianjin to get the feel of a smaller, less international Chinese city. Nick was able to befriend a range of people, from migrant workers in the Gobi desert to the landlord in the apartment he shared with his German roommate.
