Talk With Your Adviser
Advisors who work with students of color in units such as the Multicultural Centers for Academic Excellence and the Martin Luther King Program know how to help you start planning to fit study abroad into your degree. They are experienced at working with the students who face the same sorts of challenges that you are facing when you consider study abroad.

In addition to the web-based resources, stories & articles, and academic literature & research, our resource center has a binder with articles and bibliographies, a travel library with some books that address multicultural travelers, and a whole series of student evaluations, including a number of evaluations specifically dealing with diversity issues, so that you can read about other students' experiences.

Diversity Issues Survey
When you return from your learning abroad experience, be sure to fill out this Diversity Issues Survey. It is designed to illuminate issues that are directly related to diverse students studying abroad. This way more and more students can understand the particular challenges and benefits of studying abroad.
