- Study at Yonsei University, known as the most prestigious private college in South Korea.

Academic Structure
Program type: University Study in South Korea is supported by the Learning Abroad Center and CIEE. Participants attend classes at Yonsei University. Instruction in English or Korean.
Level: Various levels.
Term: Fall semester, spring semester, academic year, summer session.
Prerequisites: Sophomores and above; 3.0 GPA.
Courseload: 15 credits for fall or spring semester: 6 credits of language study plus 3 elective courses. At least one elective must be directly related to Korea.
Coursework
Students are expected to enroll in 6 credits of language study per semester plus 3 elective courses from the numerous offerings in business, humanities, social sciences, and the arts at Yonsei University. At least one elective course must be directly related to Korea. Students demonstrating fluency in Korean language may elect to take additional elective courses in place of language courses.
Global Identity: Connecting Your International Experience with Your Future
This 1-credit online course will help you:
- process your overseas experience and apply what you learn upon your return
- understand intercultural lingo and relate it to your experience
- reflect on the multiple layers of cross-cultural experiences
- market your study abroad experience for future career goals.
Some courses offered through the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) and the Global MBA program are available to participants who are in their senior year.

Academic Fit with a University of Minnesota Degree Plan
The program's requirement of at least one elective focusing on Korea is an ideal fit for the learning abroad minor’s country-specific course requirement. In addition, students may enroll in Yonsei’s Culture and Communication course in place of the pre-departure Comm 3451 Intercultural Communication course.
Many courses have already been reviewed to meet Liberal Education requirements. Go to the Liberal Education Database to search for courses or submit ones for approval.
