Students on Alliance programs choose from three respected Chinese institutions. The Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) is considered to be one of the nation’s premier institutions for the teaching of Chinese language and culture. Fudan University is one of the leading universities in China with a long history and an international reputation for academic excellence. The Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE) is a multi-dimensional university with a core focus on applied economics and management and offering majors in law, philosophy, and humanities.
Curriculum
Chinese language is a required component of each program. Students at the Beijing Language and Culture University will examine modern China through courses in English in several disciplines including economics, film studies, women’s studies, and cultural studies. Students at Fudan University will choose from a range of courses taught in English such as Chinese literature, philosophy, economics, and political science, and art history. Students at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics study Chinese culture and business. Typical credits: 30 for academic year, 15 for fall or spring semester, 7 – 9 for summer session.
