The Learning Abroad Center sells International Identity Cards!

International Identity Cards, administered through the Council for International Educational Exchange, are available for students and teachers. Cards are valid for one year from the date of issue. The cards provide basic international health and baggage insurance as well as discounts for airfare, hotels, restaurants, museums, theatres, and other locations around the world (including the United States).

To apply: You may apply for either card (ISIC/ITIC; see below) in person or by mail. For security purposes, orders may not be faxed or emailed. Download the application and include payment of $22.00 (checks payable to the University of Minnesota) and a current passport sized photo. Remember to include any required documentation of age and student or teacher status.

The International Student Identity Card (ISIC)
To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled in a degree seeking program at some point during the current Academic Year. Dated proof of student status must be submitted with the application in order to obtain the ISIC Card.

The International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC)
This ID is available for teachers. To be eligible, you must be currently employed as a teacher or professor. Proof of current employment status must be provided to obtain the card. Retired teachers and professors are not eligible.
