Learning Abroad Fair
Date: 9/17/08
The annual Learning Abroad Fair is on Wednesday Sept. 17, 10:00-2:30, on the west end of the Washington Avenue bridge. In addition to Learning Abroad Center staff, the fair features representatives from learning abroad programs. Add it to your calendar, as this is a great opportunity for students to communicate directly with program experts, and for faculty and staff to get a first-hand look at the breadth of international opportunities available.
Coming Home: Making Personal and Professional Use of Your International Experience

This statewide-wide conference supports Minnesota students who have studied abroad. They will share their knowledge and stories with peers, learn about international careers, and deepen their understanding of their experience.

Seminars International Info Session

Seminars International, Inc. & Performing Arts International, a travel consulting organization specializing in short-term study abroad programs is hosting a luncheon for interested faculty on Thursday, September 20th at 12:00. It takes place in 110 Heller Hall on the West Bank.
Seminars International has supported many University of Minnesota short term study abroad programs over the past several years and would appreciate an opportunity to provide an informative luncheon presentation for faculty interested in planning future study abroad programs.

Faculty Study Aborad Workshops
Dates: 10/8/07, 11/29/07, 2/7/08
The Learning Abroad Center is offering study abroad workshops for faculty during the 2007-2008 school year. All faculty interested in leading a short term study abroad program are invited to attended. Workshop dates are 10/8 in St. Paul, 11/29 and 2/7 on the West Bank. Faculty should reserve their spot at one of the three workshops. Workshop content includes: program design; health and safety, managing student conduct, and available resources. If you are able to attend one of the workshops, please contact Laurel Johnson at laurelj@umn.edu, to reserve your spot.
